Robin Padilla to People Slamming Him: “Magpakamatay sila sa Koreano kung gusto nila”

Netizens are grilling Robin Padilla after the veteran action star made racist remarks towards a Korean contestant in the January 13 episode of Pilipinas Got Talent Season 6.
Robin called out Korean magician Jiwan for not speaking in Filipino language during his performance. The infamous episode didn’t sit well with the viewers and many have expressed their wrath over Robin’s “unbecoming” and “shameful” behavior.

Days after the episode was aired, Robin was immediately interviewed by some members of the press. Despite the countless of criticisms thrown at him, the actor stays firm with what he believe is right and remains unapologetic.
“Wala akong pinagsisisihan kasi ako pumupunta din ako sa ibang bansa at ‘pag pumupunta ako sa ibang bansa, pinipilit kong malaman kung ano ‘yung salita doon kasi bisita ka doon, eh. Ikaw ang makikibagay.”
“Kung pupunta ka dito sa Pilipinas at uutusan mo kami at i-english-in mo kami sa banyagang pananalita, baka nagkakamali ka kasi bayan ko ‘t0. Bayan ko ‘to at handa ako mamatay anytime para sa bayan ko.”
“Kaya kung sasabihin mo sa’kin na sampung taon ka na dito at hindi ka pa rin marunong magtaglog, aba, may problema ka. Hindi mo pwedeng sabihin sa akin na mahal mo ang Pilipinas.”
He clarified that he didn’t mean any harm and just plainly gave an advice to the Manila-based Korean National. “Hindi ko naman sya inaway, sinabihan ko lang sya [na] parang tatay nya… ‘yun lang naman. Advice lang sakanya ‘yun.”
When asked about what he wants to say to those people who are against his actions, Robin effortlessly answered, “Ganon talaga. Edi mahalin nila ‘yung Korean kung gusto nila. Wala naman problema sa’kin ‘yun. Magpakamatay sila sa Koreano kung gusto nila.”
