In what seems to be a lifetime ago Jon Lucas found not only himself but also his family struggling. With the best intentions of helping his loved ones and building a better life, he found himself auditioning and setting one foot forward in the world of showbiz. Since then, he has graced national television starting with small roles on the popular teleseryes such as Got To Believe, and films such as Felix Manalo. He is best known, however, as a former member of The Hashtags, a dynamic dance group on It’s Showtime, that you no-doubt need no introduction to.

It was a different story for Akihiro Blanco, who entered the industry on a whim. According to the young actor, finding himself on TV5’s Artista Academy, a reality show that scouts the scene for the next big things, was pure luck. It was a choice made by his manager that gave great results. In the time passed since, he has opened up his creative mind to newer things, starring in indie movies and writing his own stories.

In a way Michelle Vito was also groomed for the spotlight. At age seven she started commercial modeling, and it has only gone uphill since then. Michelle is also best friends with Sofia Andres, who one day just dragged her to audition for Star Magic, which essentially set her fate in showbiz.

The truth is, none of the three started off wanting to enter showbiz. While Michelle and Akihiro wanted to enter the culinary world and try their hands at becoming a chef, Jon was intent on becoming a basketball player. “Hindi pumapasok sa isip ko yung pag-artista dahil mahiyain ako. So ang gusto ko lang talaga ay maging basketball player. Kahit college-university level.” While the former two’s dreams of delicious dishes has since faded, Jon’s dream has not. “Kung may pagkakataon pa, kasi ngayon talaga iba na yung mga skills ng bata,” shares Jon Lucas.

One of the many things that Jon, Michelle, and Akihiro are hoping fans would take away from the film is the classy way of courting a woman before. Akihiro expounds on this by telling us what to expect from the film Dito Lang Ako, “Meron siyang past at meron siyang present timeline. Ipapakita sa flashback kung paano sila nag-ligawan at kung pano manligaw noong dating panahon.” Jon Lucas echoes Akihiro’s musings saying, “Makikita natin yung totoong ligawan na may harana, pag akyat sa bahay, at kung paano nangyayari yung manliligaw sa harap ng parents ng babae.”

Discontent with today’s fast paced take on love, Michelle shares that she would prefer it if guys try to put a little more effort into their pursuit saying, “Yung social media, text text lang yan. Mas gusto ko rin yung susulatan ako ng love letters.”
